We will cover the regulations and practices in agricultural leasing. From our experience, we generally are not getting top dollar for our leases. Part of the problem is the way the lease is structured. Part of the problem is the appraisal. As we phase into termination, we need to start looking at our lands from the economic side, rather than just from an appraisal standpoint. It is alright that others make money from Trust/Restricted lands. Our income should be tied to theirs.
With most leases, you have percentage rate. Make sure your Agricultural leasing program is charging rent on income.
